Holly Smith obtained a PhD in molecular biology and biotechnology from the University of Sheffield in 2011. She first joined Green Biologics (GBL) as a KTP research associate, working in partnership with the Clostridia Research Group at the University of Nottingham. Since 2013 Holly has held several positions at GBL, including senior scientist in molecular biology and team leader of the fermentation group. She has contributed to and managed several European and Innovate UK-funded projects and has interests in industrial strain improvement and process development strategies.
