Wouter van Winden holds a MSc degree in Bioprocess Technology of Wageningen University, The Netherlands. He obtained a PhD degree in the field of metabolic engineering of micro-organisms at Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands. He then worked as an assistant professor metabolomics at the same university from 2002-2007. Since 2007, Wouter has been working at the DSM Biotechnology Center in Delft, The Netherlands, as fermentation scientist. He was involved in development and large scale implementation of new fermentation processes, as well as optimization of existing ones. His focus areas are fermentation technology, process modelling and data analysis, and science management. He currently holds the position of principal scientist fermentation.
